Don’t Shoot From A Boat Until You See This!!
Let’s face it – sooner or later every wildlife photographer (yes, even you) will find themselves shooting from a boat, and most are woefully unprepared! Although it seems like it should be easy, there are unexpected challenges around every corner, and knowing how to handle them is the difference between a card full of keepers and tears in the ocean.
In the video below, I’ll share my best tips and tricks for getting the most out of your next marine outing. We’ll cover the best settings, techniques, and even safety advice for your gear. Don’t hit the water until you see this :)ear. Don’t hit the water until you see this 🙂

You missed the single best tip, Steve. Don’t get on a boat with a camera the way you show in the video. You should always, always have a camera strap or other tether device physically connected to you. It can be a strap, it can be a harness such as a Cotton Carrier, just so long as you can’t drop thousands in gear into the deep.
I might also add you should have insurance coverage for all of your gear. My homeowners would not cover a camera I drowned in the appropriately named Dismal Creek in Arkansas!
Several of those shots and video clips look extremely familiar…like the leopard charge. Excellent advice Steve.
