With a camera like the D850 the DR drops noticeably at a ISO above 400. Question is whether at ISO 200 one is going to get a visibly better image at ISO 100. VR also is not effective at reducing subject movement blurring.
Hi, I really like your video’s. I’m sorry if you have touched on this before, but when do you take your VR off? I get mixed reviews of when to turn this off outside of mounting it on a tripod.

Great tips, Steve! Many of these are embedded in your books and other videos but having them repeated and summarized is really useful. Must say, my favourite (and one that I am always using) is the ISO management. There isn’t always time to do this as well as I would like, but when the critter is cooperating I do try to drop my shutter-speed/ISO to secure the best quality. Thanks for this.
